The Christians of Ghana, today, April 21, joined their counterparts to mark Easter Sunday, symbol of the resurrection of Jesus Christ crucified about 2000 years ago.

Easter means Christ's victory over death. In Ghana, most of the auditoriums were filled with regular and occasional worshipers (dressed in white) extolling the power of the resurrection of Christ.

Reverend George Odonkor, Chief Pastor of the Presbyterian Church Abeka of Ghana, called on Christians to seek true and genuine reconciliation among themselves in order to maintain peace in the country.

Preaching the sermon, he noted that mistrust, suspicion and greed among church members had led to social disintegration, which augurs badly for humanity, thus demanding a renewal in the spirit of forgiveness.

"If God has forgiven us our sins, why can not we forgive others? Without the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, you and I would not be here. Repair our relationships with others and live in peace with all. Let us establish peace and harmony among ourselves, "he said.

At the Legon Branch of the Methodist Church (Christ the King Temple) presided over by the Most Reverend Kwesi Akyin Sekyi-Appiah, Ghanaians were asked to pray for their leaders and for any other person in position. authority.

He added that leadership responsibility is a difficult call, hence the need for followers to constantly pray for their leaders.

Acting on the essence of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, he asked Christians to give up the unholy lifestyles that they led before Easter.

"Let's love God, pray for the leaders of the nation and support them. Defend the cleanliness. Unfortunately, we live in filth and it seems to me that we like dirt. This must not be so. Let's look at Jesus for us as Ghanaians. If we turn to him and surrender to him, there will be hope for our future. " He said.
