Ya-Na makes a triumphant entry to Manhyia

The lord of the state of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abubakari Mahama, made a triumphant entry to Manhyia Palace to join Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and mark Akwasidae kesei.

The Akwasidae Kesei were celebrating the 20th anniversary of his imprisonment as 16th occupant of the golden stool.

Ya-Na Mahama, accompanied by a long string of chefs, rode horseback amidst a magnificent performance of the traditional Dagomba dance "Damba", to the admiration of the enthusiastic crowd gathered in Bodwawe , place of the event.

The crowd rose spontaneously to catch sight of the new Overlord dressed in his magnificent royal royal costume.

The entrance to Ya-Na at Manhyia Palace is significant, as a result of the role played by Otumfuo Osei Tutu in the settlement of long-standing chieftaincy disputes in the traditional Dragon region.
