Congregations of Redemption The Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) at Tema Community Nine on Sunday joined with other Christians to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Church members, most of them dressed in white and jubilant, sang songs of praise and adoration and engaged in prayer to ask for forgiveness of their sins.

Reverend Kwadwo Osei-Bonsu, Minister Responsible for the Congregation of the Redemption Congregation, in a sermon on the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, urged Christians to take full advantage of the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

Reverend Osei-Bonus, citing Philippians 3:10, 1 Corinthians 15: 12-20 and other scriptures, presented members with more than ten benefits of the resurrection of Christ three days after his crucifixion and burial.

He said that resurrection meant resurrected from the dead, hence the continuance of Christ to the present and the manifest presence of Christ among Christians.

He said that "every time we deny the resurrection, we deny the living Christ," adding that if Christ did not resurrect, it would mean that Christians would say lies and that their faith was futile, because they would always be held back prisoners by sin.

In enumerating the benefits of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, he declared, it established Jesus as the king forever ruling over all powers, demons and principalities.

The resurrection, he said, gave Christians access to the throne of God, in addition to making them aware that he was intervening for them now and forever.

He mentioned other benefits, proving that Christ had captured the captive and donated to men while serving as proof of his promise to return.

He urged Christians not to fear death because, according to him, Christ, through his resurrection, gave life to their mortal bodies and made death a brief moment of separation.
