Yemen

Yemeni health officials reported 27,840 suspected cholera cases and 48 badociated deaths during the week ending 14 April.

Eighteen percent of them are considered serious cases.

Bani al Harith (869), Shu'aub (855), As Sabain (808), Ma'ain (737) and Hamdan (636) recorded the highest number of suspected cholera cases in the past week.

The epidemic has affected 21 of 23 governorates and 286 of Yemen's 333 districts since the beginning of 2019.

Since 27 April 2017, Yemen has recorded 1.6 million cases of cholera and 3,200 deaths.

Somalia

The Somali Ministry of Health has announced 40 new suspected cases of cholera without death in the last week of March. Of the 40 cases reported in week 13, 45% (18) were children under 5 years of age.

This brings the total of the epidemic to more than 7,000 cases and 486 deaths since December 2017.
