The consumer watchdog has issued an urgent reminder regarding a much-loved sunglbad brand that it says can break and damage the eyes.
The Australian Commission for Competition and Consumer Affairs urges those who have purchased Big W Brown Ray Turtle Tortoise Eyeglbades to return them immediately.
The recall involves a significant portion of the country, including New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia.
Over-the-counter lenses were in danger of breaking, the ACCC said in a statement.
"Some non-prescription lenses may not be robust or robust enough to crack or break under pressure, or there may be a difference between the left lens and the right lens" the press release.
"Consumers should stop using this product and return to a BIG W Optical store for a full refund."
The recall concerns sunglbades purchased between November 1, 2016 and January 31, 2019 and bearing the style number "RB4175" located on the inside of the left arm of the glbades.
This does not apply to sunglbades with corrective lenses.
