The last appearance of Luke Perry in Riverdale will be broadcast this week, revealed one of the producers of the show.
The 52-year-old actor died tragically after suffering a stroke last month. He will be seen playing Fred Freds in the drama for the last time on Friday.
The last scenes of Luke with KJ Apa, who plays Archie, his son on screen, will be airing later this week, according to Roberto Aguirre Sacasa.
He revealed on Twitter: "This week's #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed, and as always, Fred's words of wisdom were pbaded on to Archie, a beautiful and true moment between a father and his son. Would like these scenes to continue … "
This is the moment dreaded by many fans of the series since the death of Luke. They soon shared their love and despair at the loss of the Hollywood actor.
A fan of the series responded to the tweet by saying, "I love Riverdale, it'll be sad not to see him anymore in the series, no more R.I.P."
Another told his grief by writing, "My God, I'm not ready for that, I always get back after (almost) two months … Luke, we all miss #lukeperry #Riverdale"
A third echoed the feelings of many fans: "Farewell to the most generous person in Riverdale, Fred will be missed!"
Roberto had previously told Entertainment Tonight that Luke's last scenes had taken a while, with the show's bosses still "shocked" by the defeat.
Speaking of Luke's death, he said, "You know, honestly, we're all still in shock and treating and crying."
Executive producer Roberto went on to say that they had spent time making sure Luke was doing the best he could.
"We know we have to solve the problem in one way or another, but we give ourselves some time and space before finding the best way to honor him."
He added, "Luke was, is and will always be an important part of Riverdale, we are a kind of family and when such a loss occurs, you always wear it.
"It changes and I hope it will get a little less painful over time, but you have changed."
He died on March 4 in Beverly Hills, died in the 90s in Beverly Hills, surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank.
His fiancee Wendy and his children, Jack and Sophie, were at his side when he died of cerebrovascular ischemia, commonly known as "stroke."
Luke was buried a week later in Dixon, Tennessee, and Roberto had previously announced that each episode of the current season would be dedicated to Luke.
He had tweeted at that time: "Browse pictures to get ready." From the very beginning, with Luke in the middle, our heart, always.
"Tonight's episode of #Riverdale finds Fred doing what he does best: helping Archie, he's dedicated to Luke, because all the episodes will be for the rest of our journey." (Sic) "
