A huge mistake led the police to stop.
The secret police went to Detroit and pretended to be drug traffickers. However, thanks to a mess, another group of police thought that it was true drug traffickers. So they raided the home of what turned out to be one of the most embarrbading things ever seen in the department, according to the police chief.
The incident occurred when police officers in the 12th district of Detroit were placed under cover to pretend to be drug traffickers in order to arrest buyers.
Two shoppers went to the house where the so-called police officers were, but it was actually a police force who had gone undercover to arrest drug dealers.
They came from the 11th Detroit Police District.
They began searching the scene when they arrived and carried camcorders capturing the entire incident of police officers who fought and beat each other.
The incident was compared to Keystone cops
It has been said that any incident has turned out to be something you would see on Keystone Cops' silent films.
Now, the event has triggered an investigation. This is not the first time that something similar is happening. During the 1980s, two police officers were killed.
Although it is understood that when they go underground, only those who are immediately involved can know what is happening, and this can result in undesirable consequences and mistakes. It seems that in this case the Detroit police kept the infiltration operations too secretive while a department claiming to be a drug buyer was arresting the other claiming to be a drug dealer.
