Arsenal is closely following Everton 's loan deal, Andre Gomes, before a summer transfer to the Portuguese international, according to a report.
ESPN "Sources" claim that Unai Emery kept an eye on the 25-year-old man from Barcelona, who impressed in Everton's engine room.
Gomes, who signed a loan for last season last summer, has played 28 times for Everton this season and the Goodison Park club is eager to turn the contract into a permanent contract.
Barcelona seems ready to sell Gomes for around 35 million pounds, the same amount spent on attracting the Valencia midfielder in the summer of 2016.
The report indicates, however, that "there has not yet been any official contact between the Gunners and Barcelona about a transfer".
Apparently, Emery is a fan of Gomes and was interested in his signing last year, but with Aaron Ramsey leaving for Juventus when his contract expires in June, he needs an addition to the midfield.
Arsenal's director of football operations, Raul Sanllehi, was involved in the deal that had brought Gomes to Camp Nou Valencia in 2016 and, like Emery, he was a fan of the single-goal midfielder.
Tottenham has also been linked to Gomes, according to a report in the Sun last month, while Lazio and Roma have both been credited with an interest in him.
Liverpool was also involved in an attempt to pinch Gomes from his neighbors, but Marco Silva played down the discussion in December: "Nothing, zero. Why would that affect us?
"I understand that some clubs are related to him, I do not really know. But nothing changes on our path, which is in our mind.
"When you have good players in your team, it means that other clubs are also turning to them. For me, it's a normal situation in football.
"At the right time, we have time to talk about the situation and see what we can do to keep it or not."
