Telecommunications giant MTN Ghana has, for the third time in a row, supported South Africa's annual Freedom Day golf tournament to mark the celebrations in Ghana.

The tournament, which has been running for six years, seeks to bring golfers together to compete in Ghanaian and South African communities to play golf and network in a multicultural environment.

Organized by the Global Media Alliance (GMA), this year's event will be held at the Sakumono Celebrity Golf Course on Saturday.

Speaking before the tournament, Guido Sopiimeh, director of marketing at MTN, said, "MTN is honored to partner with the South African community to celebrate its big day with the much anticipated golf tournament.

"Being part of this tournament has been great in previous years and we look forward to a great competition this year."

According to him, the partnership with the tournament is an excellent opportunity to share the excitement and history of Freedom Day celebrations in South Africa in Ghana.

"We are an African multinational wishing to contribute to the creation of a bold new world in the digital world for our customers in Africa and beyond. Over the years, we have mbadively invested and diligently supported sports, fitness and entertainment in Ghana, "he added.

Freedom Day is an annual celebration of the first non-racial democratic elections of 1994 in South Africa. Peace, unity, preservation and the restoration of human dignity are at the heart of Liberty Day celebrations on April 27 of each year.

South African High Commissioner to Ghana, Lulama Xingwana, is the special guest of honor at the event.
