NEW YORK (AP) – Taylor Swift released a colorful and optimistic single on Friday morning, ending a week-long search for the pop star when she teased fans with clues about a new project.
Swift has released "ME!" – with Brendon Urie from Panic! at the discotheque – on streaming services and also gave up his Friday gala music video.
This is the first single of his upcoming seventh album – the sequel to the "Reputation" of 2017.
In an interview with Robin Roberts on Thursday, during the 2019 NFL draft on ABC, Swift said the song was about "embracing your individuality and celebrating it truly".
"I think that with a pop song, we have the ability to make sure that the melodies remain etched in people's heads and I just want it to be a song that helps people feel better about themselves." "she said.
Swift wrote "ME!" with Urie and co-producer Joel Little, the New Zealander best known for producing Lorde's first album in 2013, "Pure Heroine". He has also worked on tubes for Imagine Dragons and Khalid.
Swift dropped clues on a new project for several weeks on social media, and his fanatical fans deciphered them and predicted that Uriah would be featured on the song.
She surprised a few hundred of these fans on Thursday when she visited a mural that she ordered in Nashville and thanked them for being shown.
"I've never been so proud of your detective skills at the FBI," she wrote Thursday on Instagram.
She told Roberts that she could not "believe how devoted her fans were".
"I can not believe how much they care about me, so it's more fun for me to create music, to create video clips," she said.
