Braimah "Bukom Banku" Kamoko
Braimah "Bukom Banku" Kamoko, the controversial heavyweight boxer, has called on the government to invest more in the development and promotion of boxing in Ghana, as it could potentially win more international awards for the country.
"Without any lack of respect for football, boxing has brought more honors to Ghana than football.
"Over the years, we have won ten world titles, while football has not yet offered us an important trophy.
"Bukom Banku", who was until recently the undefeated and most popular boxer of Ghana, before losing miserably to Bastie Samir, said it was necessary to take a look at on the boxing juvenile and amateur of the country, in order to find more young talents for the future.
According to "Bukom Banku", boxing is the only place that has allowed Ghana to win a medal at the recent Commonwealth Games in Australia, adding that Ghana is currently boasting ten world titles.
"Boxing can also attract tourists to the country and create employment opportunities for young people, especially those in the street," he added.
