The Electoral Commission (EC) said some actions of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the opposition, were becoming more and more a cause of concern for the peace and stability of the country.

Over the past few days, the NDC has criticized the EC by calling some of the President of the Commission's actions disgusting over the next restricted registration exercise.

Secretary General Johnson Asiedu Nketia said that the position of EC President Jean Mensa is becoming a threat to the country's commission and democracy.

Dr Bossman Asare, Vice-President of the EC, who does not take lightly the comments of the NDC, is rather of the opinion that party stratagems have disastrous consequences for Ghanaian democracy, insisting that Jean-Mensa's administration has shown efforts to deepen the country's democratic credentials.

"I think if anyone becomes a real or potential threat to the democracy we practice in our country, I will say rather that it's the NDC's stance. Since this new Commission took office, we have seen some of the things that have happened. Prior to the Ayawaso West by-election, allegations were well underway, the register was inflated and we also noticed pictures of ballots. "

"As a commission, we observed a particular model of the NDC. I do not see why the CND will turn around and accuse the president that her actions are a threat to democracy. This is the only commission that is committed to Ghanaian democracy because we respect the law, "he said.

The tense relationship between the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Electoral Commission (EC) seems to be deteriorating day by day.
