Daniel A. Wubah is sworn
A former student of the University of Cape Coast, Dr. Daniel A. Wubah, was named 15th President of the University of Millersville Pennsylvania (United States of America).
Dr. Wubah was officially sworn in by the University of Pennsylvania on April 18, 2019.
Delegation
A UCC delegation led by Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, and Dean of the Center for International Education, Professor Rosemary Boohene, attended the inauguration ceremony in Pennsylvania .
The Millersville University of Pennsylvania was created in 1855 with the following ideal: teacher preparation and clbadical learning were essential elements of public education and informed citizenship.
Profile
Dr. Wubah had his B.Sc. Honors in Botany and Dip. in Education from the University of Cape Coast. He earned a Masters degree in Biology from Akron University and a PhD. in Botany from the University of Georgia, all in the United States and then went on to become a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) research laboratory in Athens, Georgia.
Prior to becoming president of the university, Mr. Wubah was vice president and then senior advisor to the president of Washington and Lee Universities.
He also held the following other positions: Senior Vice President and Vice President of Undergraduate Training at Virginia Tech University; Deputy Executive Vice Principal and Professor of Zoology at the University of Florida; Vice-Dean, Professor of Biology and Special Assistant to the President at James Madison University, Associate Professor and Department Chair at Towson University.
He was also a member of a group of experts from the National Academy of Sciences who studied the scientific basis for estimating atmospheric emissions from animal feed operations.
