The Director General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, asked the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to move a bus station to Asafo to Kumasi, operated by the VVIP transport company because it is dangerously installed.
According to him, part of the station, which is under one of the bridges of the Asafo interchange, represented a danger to life and property.
Mr. Agyemang-Prempeh gave the directive during his visit to the Asafo Market on Monday, along with Kumasi Head of Metropolitan Government (MCE), Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi, and the Deputy Minister of Public Works and Industry. of Housing and Deputy of Subin, Mr. Eugene Antwi, destruction caused by two fires on the market.
The bus station is also located near the Asafo market.
Nana Agyemang-Prempeh told the Daily Graphic Daily in Accra: "I asked the KMA to act immediately to prevent any undesirable development. We should not wait for something serious to happen before acting. "

The double disaster, he said, occurred because the drains in the area were small and poorly constructed, causing floods whenever it was raining.
Nana Agyemang-Prempeh said that he had appealed to the Ministry of Public Works and Housing for it to widen the drains of the Asafo market as part of the drainage network reconstruction works that he was undertaking in the country.
He also said that the illegal structures installed on the three terminals of the Asafo market were a source of visual pollution and that it was also impossible for firefighters to have access to water to extinguish the fire.
