The man identified as Hill is also heard on the recording saying to his fiancee: "You must be terrified of me too, b —-."
The recording, which is believed to date back to early March, appears to have influenced the leaders' decision to end their activities on Hill.
"Earlier in the evening, we were made aware of the audio between Tyreek and Crystal (Espinal)," Chief Executive Officer Brett Veach told reporters.
"We were made aware of this information in real time, as the general public," he said. "We have been deeply troubled by what we have heard and deeply concerned. Now obviously we have a great concern for Crystal, we are very worried about Tyreek, but our main focus, our main concern, is on the young child."
The KCTV indicated that it had transmitted the audio to the local prosecutor, who was examining it.
The legal representatives of Hill and the NFL did not immediately respond to CNN's request for a comment on the audio recording. CNN could not reach Espinal.
"He's terrified of you," said Hill's fiancée
In the recording, Hill and Espinal seem to discuss a police investigation into allegations of abuse committed against their son, whose name is illuminated.
Espinal asks, "Why (the unnamed child)," he said, "did Dad do it?"
Later in the recording, she states: "A 3 year old child is not going to lie about what happened to his arm".
Hill denies having broken his son's arm in the recording. According to the video, he also said, "I am the one who becomes physical with him," referring to the child.
"He is terrified of you," says Espinal about their son, according to the audio.
Hill replies, "You must be terrified of me too, b —-."
KCTV reports that the audio lasts 11 minutes, although the station has only released short segments. KCTV has received the recording of "someone who is concerned about the well-being" of Hill and Espinal's child, reported the channel.
"We think that a crime has been committed," says DA
The revelation of the audio follows an investigation by Hill and Espinal on the well-being of their child.
In the recording, Espinal states: "I rode for you against this detective and the people of CPS (Child Protection Services)".
The audio was released a day after Johnson County attorney Kansas, Steve Howe, said his office would not file a criminal complaint as a result of the investigation into the protection of the property. 39, childhood led by Overland Park, Kansas, in the Department of Police and Department for Childhood and Family of the State. (DCF).
"We are deeply concerned about this situation and concerned about the health and well-being of the child in question," Howe told reporters Wednesday. "We believe that a crime has been committed. However, the evidence in the present case does not conclusively establish who committed the crime against this child.
"Despite this decision, state officials will continue to be involved to ensure the safety of the child," said the prosecutor.
Howe refused to discuss who has custody of the child, but added, "What I can say is that the child is safe."
Overland Park police, Howe's office and the DCF also failed to respond immediately to CNN's request for comments on Thursday night.
Chiefs will make the right decision, says GM
Chiefs will gather more information and badess the situation, Veach said Thursday night.
"We will make the right decision on Tyreek Hill," he said.
Hill, 25, was selected by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft. In 2018, he captured 87 pbades for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also had an urgent touchdown and a punt return for a score.
