The vice president of IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, said his team had discovered information about a potential conflict of interest and was seeking further explanation.
But in a statement, Fueltrade Ltd noted that "its shareholders are Messrs. Chris Chinebuah and Dzifa French Cudjoe, who have the legal and effective interest of the company."
"Fueltrade categorically declares that it does not legally or effectively belong to MK K. Sarpong and / or his family," the statement added.
The company said that IMANI had "proceeded to no verification because it had decided to act and speak with malice and / or with reckless disregard for the truth, in order to achieve a goal. accessory.
In view of this, the company claims to have asked its lawyers "to demand a retraction and an apology from" on behalf of IMANI.

K.K. Sarpong also issued a statement that the allegations against him were false.
He added that Fueltrade's involvement in the Aker deal had been sealed even before his appointment.
"Fueltrade's 2% stake in the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points Block was acquired in 2014 well before my appointment in 2017 as General Manager of GNPC."
He also asked IMANI to apologize for the claims.
