The Winneba Court of First Instance sentenced a 24-year-old unemployed person to one year's imprisonment for illegal entry and possession of instruments for illicit purposes in a local.

The court presided over by Mr. Isaac Oheneba-Kufour, Shaibu Suleman, convicted, pleaded guilty to the charges.

Detective Police Inspector Bernice Wie told the Court that the applicant, Mrs. Theodora Osei-wusu, lived in a fenced house in Gyeteykrom, near Winneba, while Suleman was also living in Dwenwoho, in the suburbs. Agona Swedru.

The Prosecution stated on April 14th of this year at approximately 9:20 am, while the complainant was cooking in the kitchen, she saw the accused carrying a bag in the back of the house spying on through the kitchen window.

According to the prosecution, Ms. Osei-wusu was overrun with fear, as the main entrance to the house was secure and her screams to ask Shaibu's mission to attract a taxi driver into the house but Suleman climbed the wall of the fence and escaped.

The complainant then informed certain persons in the area and gave them a clear description of the accused. Shortly thereafter, the taxi driver sighted Suleman at Winneba Junction on the basis of this description and rushed to Ms. Osei-wusu's house to inform her.

The prosecution stated that the lady had accompanied the witness to the spot where he had sighted Suleman; he was arrested and sent to the police station in Winneba where, during the search of his bag, a car catch, pliers and a screwdriver were found.

The prosecution stated during its interrogation that Suleman admitted to having gone home to steal and pleaded for his pardon.
