A level 400 student from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) is under the influence of the police after attempting to stuff an election ballot box during the CBC elections.

Thousands of GIJ students visited the campus on Friday, April 19, 2019 to elect new Directors of the Student Representatives Council (SRC).

However, the polls were almost tainted when one of the students was caught committing professional misconduct.

According to an eyewitness, a last-year student would have been removed withdrawing already printed ballots with the thumb of a secret compartment at his belt.

A total of 19 ballot papers printed in favor of one of the candidates was found on him.

The reports suggest that he was caught while he was trying to slip the ballots printed in a thumb urn.

However, he was arrested and taken directly to the police station.
