A student caught for trying to stuff ballot boxes

Fia Ishmael, a senior year student at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), was demolished after allegedly attempting to stuff a ballot box at a poll to elect new officials from the Council of Student Representatives. (CBC) Friday.

Observers at the scene of the election – the GIJ campus – were alerted to the illegal action of the student after he spent more than five minutes in a voting booth.

According to an eyewitness, he was withdrawing already printed ballots from one inch of a secret compartment to his belt.

He allegedly printed 19 inches of ballots for a candidate and placed all papers in the ballot box when observers were alerted to his actions.

He was arrested by a police officer on the scene.
