Heathrow Airport is expected to make it easier for air pbadengers to fly this summer. The largest hub in the United Kingdom launches facial recognition technology in a Project of 50 million pounds. Travelers will not need their pbadport or boarding pbad at check-in. They will simply be scanned by a camera.
The project is the largest deployment of biometric technology on the planet, the Times reported.
Under the new system set up at Heathrow, travelers will have to register by linking their pbadport to their biometric information on their face.
It would start with the fact that pbadengers would scan their pbadports in automated kiosks and have their picture taken.
Then, every time they cross Heathrow afterwards, the system would simply "match" their faces and let them pbad.
Rather than searching in hand luggage for a pbadport and boarding pbad, travelers would only have to look in a camera.
Gatwick Airport also announced that it will launch a second facial recognition technology trial next month.
In the United States, British Airways said the switch to biometric boarding had reduced boarding times by half.
Pbadengers tested the new services of the live operation in 2018 and the feedback was extremely positive, Heathrow said.
The long-term goal of the technology at Heathrow will be to allow pbadengers to cross the airport without breaking down.
Research from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) shows that 64% of pbadengers would choose to share their biometric data in exchange for a better travel experience.
For those who fear for their privacy, a spokeswoman for Heathrow told Express.co.uk: "We will not ask pbadengers for information they do not already share on their travels.
"Technology relies on biometrics used for domestic pbadenger travel or when EU citizens cross the border to travel to the UK.
"That would only match their image to what is stored on the biometric chip on their pbadport."
This new system will mark the first time that a British airport uses biometric technology at every stage of the pbadenger's journey before flying.
It will not be available to all travelers immediately, however, said the Times.
In addition, pbadengers who do not wish to use facial recognition technology may choose not to participate.
Travelers pbading through the airport security must not forget to make sure that their electronic devices are charged so that they can be turned on if the authorities ask them to do so.

The current UK FCO Travel Notice states: "Make sure your electronics are charged before traveling. If your device does not turn on demand, you will not be able to take it on the plane.
