Brother Stanley was the pastor in charge of the Sion Church in the Mattakalappu region of Sri Lanka when the attack took place.

The bomb attacks targeted churches packed for Easter holidays, as well as hotels popular with tourists.
The Sri Lankan authorities have accused a local Islamist extremist group, the national Tawheed Jamath, of the attacks, though the Islamic State (IS) group has also claimed that it has played a role.
