The mother of a two-year-old boy who was kidnapped at "Chinese", a suburb of Kasoa, was shocked when he heard of the news of his son's death.

"My wife collapsed on hearing the news of our son's death," said Kwame Owusu.
He said his son disappeared on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, but was later found dead and buried in rubble late Friday night.
Kwame Owusu said that an eyewitness told him that he had seen his son in a black sedan with a Nigerian registration number, but that the car had taken off quickly.
"At first, the eyewitness did not want to go to the police to file a formal complaint, but I managed to convince him to file a formal eyewitness complaint," said Kwame Owusu.
Anti-Nigerian feeling
Some angry residents of the region told Citi News that the presence of some Nigerians in the area was the reason for the high number of criminal activities.
"Their activities here endanger the lives of women and children," said an angry resident.
Some residents also accused Ghanaian homeowners of giving Nigerian rents for rent, adding that when they committed a criminal offense, they quickly left the premises because they did not carry out due diligence checks on their own. .
Residents threatened to sack all Nigerians in the area if the government did not intervene to deport them.
