In a statement, he said that he had sadly received the death of their father and venerable statesman, Clement Kubindiwor Tedam, affectionately called C.K Tedam.
"He embodied honesty, loyalty, humility, wisdom and was a source of inspiration for me and for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
"He served Ghana and the New Patriotic Party with dedication, dignity and zeal," he said.
Mr. Tedam was a member of Parliament in the colonial era and a founding member of the Northern People's Party. He was appointed Minister of Local Government under the junta of the Supreme Military Council.
With the return to democracy in 1992, Mr. Tedam became the founding father of the New Patriotic Party and then a member of the State Council under former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Until his death, he was chairman of the NPP Seniors Council.
"Samira Bawumia and I are condoling with her family, the New Patriotic Party and Ghana in general for the death of this great man.
"It's a life to celebrate, "the statement added.
