The only three expensive products you need in your beauty cabinet

[ad_1]

Consumers of beauty products are constantly looking for products that will behave like a Maserati, with a Holden budget.

There are many categories of products where you can absolutely get great results at a lower cost.

But sometimes you get exactly what you pay for.

The hard part is knowing exactly which products are worthy of being tackled and where you can get away with the budget version.

We really only need three expensive things in our beauty salons: an excellent serum, an eye cream and a glorious designer base.

Everything else – like mascara, eye shadow, cleanser and moisturizer – can be purchased from your pharmacist or supermarket.

Why are these more expensive products often better? Usually, it's because a brand has spent millions of dollars on research and development, experimenting for years with different formulas and ingredients to get the perfect mix.

We all have a budget, but we all want beautiful skin. Here are the three essential elements of a candle that deserve to be spent with your next paycheck.

NUTRI DAY SERUM FROM DR ANH

Price: $ 99

Available since: Dr. Anh's website – and she has Afterpay!

The popular plastic surgeon, Dr. Anh Nguyen, works in the beautiful Crown Metropol Hotel spa in Perth. Now, she has launched her own line of skin care products that are ingredient-based and highly effective.

Nutri Day is an amazing vitamin C serum that is closest to the best vitamin C serum on the market, which is Drunk Elephant's excellent C-Firma Day serum ($ 122 from Mecca). But Nutri Day is less expensive and offers the same feeling of hydration that is lacking in many Vitamin C products.

Vitamin C is an excellent lightening ingredient, ideal for increasing radiance and reducing sun spots or pallor.

Nutri Day contains 10% ascorbic acid, the most stable form of vitamin C, as well as vitamin E. It does not feel sticky or liquid like many serums containing vitamin C. Instead, it is Smooth and moisturizing, almost with a consistency similar to oil.

Look, the packaging is not great. It's not chic – at all. The font is strange and it looks like it was done with Word Art, but this packaging snob has learned to look beyond that and focus on the excellent skin results.

Side note – Dr. Anh's Revival Eye serum ($ 79) is also very good.

OLE HENRIKSEN BANANA BRIGHT EYE CREAM

Price: $ 55

Available since: Sephora

People always want to be told that eye creams are not needed, but if you really want your eye area to be as fleshy and moist as possible, it's time to invest.

The skin under our eyes is naturally thinner and contains fewer sebaceous glands than on the rest of our face. It therefore requires an additional correction.

Eye creams will not eliminate wrinkles – no products with the exception of Botox or putty will – but they will prevent fine lines from getting so deep.

This lightening eye cream is very thin and goes a bit far. It can help reduce dark circles and is great for use under makeup as well as at night.

I often recommend this product to men who want to start using an eye cream because they can apply it during the day and no one will notice it.

CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE FOUNDATION AQUA

Price: $ 78

Available since: David Jones

Look, there are lots of cheap supermarket brand foundations and a lot of them do the work, but they are not surprising.

If you really want this brilliant and professional finish, you need to invest in a good foundation.

You do not have to go crazy and buy La Mer (it's $ 200 in Mecca if you're curious). For between $ 60 and $ 100, you can get an excellent base from Sephora or Mecca.

Giorgio Armani makes amazing foundations (The Luminous Silk, Power Fabric and Designer Lift are excellent), just like Dior and MAC. The Beauty Blender's Bounce base is ideal for high coverage and NARS Sheer Glow is a brilliant clbadic.

But you can never go wrong with Chanel. In life and with your makeup.

This lighter version of their clbadic Vitalumiere foundation provides purer coverage than the original. It comes out of the bottle like a fluid and is very easy to apply with the fingers.

Start in the center of your face, where most of us have redness and uneven texture, then smooth the rest of your face.

Does this help if I tell you that the British makeup artist and queen of YouTube Lisa Eldridge is a fan of this foundation? Because she is. Highligths.

But besides making you incredible, I actually think that the best thing about this product is what you feel.

It's easy to apply a little Chanel to your face every morning to help you get into the world with your head up and a delicious springtime.
