JOPLIN, Mo. – Freeman Health System and the Ozark Center have partnered for the 12th Annual Walk for Autism Awareness on Saturday.
For the first time, the walk took a theme and added a new 5K yellow brick path. The riders took off on a course following the yellow ribbons on the MSSU campus to the finish line.
The raffle articles also raised funds. All funds have been donated to the Bill program and the Virginia Leffen Center for Autism, which helps local families.
More than 600 participants attended the event, making it the group's biggest walk to date. Participants also set a fundraising record of $ 37,000.
