Saudi prince Mohammed Bin Salman has given up buying Manchester United.
The Saudi royal family wanted to encourage the Glazers to sell the giants of the Premier League with the promise to bring the club to the top of the European game.
The Prince, whose family has a value of more than £ 850 billion, was tipped to make an impressive £ 3.8 billion offer for Old Trafford.
But the Sun reports that Bin Salman has ended his interest in taking over at United at least for now.
It is suggested to United's current owners, the Glazer family, to play a more concrete role at Old Trafford.
The Glazers, especially Avram and Joel, have recently been targeted.
But they plan to get more involved as early as this summer, even though Executive Vice President Ed Woodward's position is not in jeopardy.
Meanwhile, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer urged United fans to give the club owners a bit of leeway before the decisive Chelsea strike.
Solskjaer said: "You can not say that we have not invested enough money. If you look at the money that has been spent, the owners have invested a lot of money and will continue to do so.
"I attended meetings and we discussed them. But you can not change teams in one transfer window. It will not happen overnight.
"But we have the schedule – and we have support. We are all realistic enough to see where we are and you will not bump and go from 70 to 90 points.
"Liverpool did not do it and City did not do it.
"They have arrived where they are with stability, consistency and constant investment."
