General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia
Secretary General of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, revealed that the President of the Electoral Commission (EC), the attitude of Mrs. Jean Mensa towards the opposition party, was worrying .
For General Mosquito, as it is popularly called, the problem is not that the NDC is a party, but the attitude of the EC.
Speaking on Citi FM, based in Accra, General Mosquito described the EC president's posture as a potential threat to Ghanaian commission and democracy.
"It seems that Jean Mensa is prejudiced against the NDC and I think it is because of the opinion we expressed about his suitability for the position at the time of his appointment, and she thinks that it is reason enough to deny us our rights "declared.
There appears to be a bad relationship between the NDC and the EC over criticisms regarding the limited recording exercise to be undertaken by the EC.
The NDC is opposed to the next limited registration exercise to be conducted in the EC District Offices.
The party has expressed concerns about a decentralized process by saying that the district office registration would deprive most Ghanaians of voting rights.
However, the EC rejected the allegations, claiming that the district level registration organization plan included in the measures to improve the IT infrastructure.
