The ceremony kicked off at Emirates Pavilion #Emirates for Expo 2020 Dubai – described by its team as a "state-of-the-art building" – in March 2019, with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Saeed Al Maktoum, President and Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Airline and Group , revealing details of the structure that will present the future of commercial aviation.
The pavilion, with an area of 3,300 square meters, will have three floors and was designed "to reflect the dynamic lines of aircraft wings ready to take off".
The pavilion will be covered with 26 inclined architectural fins comprising 800m of LED lighting, used to create multisensory effects and movements, and used for the light shows that will be held every evening of Expo 2020 in Dubai. October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021.
Construction plans include integrated solar panels, off-site construction, reactive sunscreen and "green scenery inside and outside the Emirates pavilion".
Located next to UAE pavilion Expo Dubai in Dubai and within walking distance of Al Wasl Square – the center of Expo 2020 Dubai – the Emirates Pavilion will accommodate more than 56,000 visitors per month.
Designed to showcase "the changing world of commercial aviation" and to spark discussion around the "potential of mobility and its advances both in the air and on the ground", the Emirates pavilion will focus on themes such as flight science; progress in engine technologies; new materials for aerospace that can increase efficiency and reduce fuel consumption; fuselage interiors improving pbadenger comfort; and improving the pbadenger experience at airports.
Daylight will be an essential element of the pavilion, which includes a closed floor plan in order to reduce energy consumption.
The first theme of the Emirates Pavilion will allow visitors to become familiar with the basic principles of aviation. The second, focused on engine advancements, will examine how electrical units could shape the future of aviation and help reduce emissions over the years.
The future Emirates Pavilion lab will explore "innovative metallic and composite materials being developed, upgraded and adopted to provide better flight performance," the airline said. The research will focus on the characteristics of materials, such as mbad reduction, increased strength, corrosion resistance and fuel economy, to explore how these materials could 'become the elements'. base of the planes of tomorrow ".
