Maccasio, an award-winning rapping sensation based in Tamale, has revealed that his army of 69 fans should focus on earning the title of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Reggae / Dancehall song of the year.
Maccasio's "Dagomba Girl" has been nominated with Stonebwoy's "Top Skanka", Samini's "Obaa" and Shatta Wale's "Gringo" in a category often described as very competitive.
The winner of the 2018 3 Music Awards New Act, the only winner in the category, will need "magic" to succeed.
But he is convinced that, with regard to the public vote, he enjoys considerable support, including fans who sell their properties to vote for him.
"My people vote, someone sold his TV set to vote for me, thousands of votes every day, people send me money by sending me credits for that people can vote "
However, he fears that he is not the favorite of the board of directors and the academy, who together have 60% of the vote in awarding the prize.
