The mortal remains of the late Major General Francis Vib-Sanziri, Chief of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), arrived in the country from the USSR. Israel.

Ghana's General Director of Social Welfare and COP widow Beatrice Vib-Sanziri were also present with family members to greet the body.

The atmosphere was solemn when the body was taken to the military morgue.

Major-General Vib-Sanziri was appointed by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in October 2017 to head the multinational force.
