He added that the Institute, anxious to promote sound corporate governance, urged Parliament to ensure that directors appointed to public boards have training in corporate governance. .
The Ho forum was the first of the nationwide pledges and brought together the leaders of more than 100 companies, security agencies, religious institutions and educational institutions, among others.
Professor John Bright Aheto, a member of the IdD Council, said the business sector must live up to expectations and demonstrate true governance by upholding integrity and accountability .
He called for sustained performance monitoring and evaluation, as well as an "appropriate mix of skilled and qualified staff who are pbadionate about serving on boards" for rapid growth.
A team of interim coordinators composed of six members was formed to help develop the charter of the Volta region of the institute and responsible for bringing it to birth in three months.
Professor Harry Tagbor, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, also a member of the ISD, was chosen to lead the Regional Coordination Team and he promised to create a "solid branch" by the end of the month. year.
Institute officials paid a courtesy call on Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta's regional minister, who deplored the "bad" corporate governance culture in all areas of the local economy.
He encouraged the ISD to continue its efforts to address the challenges of leadership and pledged support for the region to the local IoT charter.
