– An NDC organizer for women in the East region called for a special prayer for President Akufo-Addo

Shirley Naana Ampem, organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Eastern Region, said that Ghanaians should pray fervently for President Akufo-Addo to peacefully accept defeat if he loses in 2020.
According to her, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must be ready to accept defeat if it loses the victory in the 2020 polls.
She said that former President John Mahama had shown a keen sense of the state in accepting his defeat in the 2016 presidential election and had urged the NPP to emulate that. .

Shirley Naana Ampem spoke at the "Ramadan Health Walk" organized by the NDC on Sunday, April 28, 2019.
The exercise was organized by the Zongo Caucus wing of the New Juaben South constituency in Koforidua.
"From here, let us remember that Ghana, in her prayers, asks Allah to grant us constant peace in order to [NPP government] will accept defeat and deliver it peacefully, as what former President Mahama did in 2016," she says.
The organizer of the NDC Women's Organizer also criticized the way in which the NPP government removed the former President of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei.
According to her, the decision to appoint Jean Mensa suggests that the NPP wants to bypbad the electoral system against the will of the people.
William Atamudzi, NDC Vice President for the Eastern Region, also spoke at the Ramadan Healthwalk.

Atamudzi urged the President to implement the recommendations of the Emile Short Commission report on the violence that shook the by-election of Ayawaso West Wuagon.
Other NDC leaders present at the parade were East Regional Secretary Mark Oliver Kevor, Assistant Regional Treasurer – Obibini Richard and Regional Organizer Hackman Kabore.
