Accra, April 29, GNA –
In the fight against malaria and the commemoration of the world this year
World Malaria Day, Total Petroleum Ghana distributed insecticide-treated mosquito nets
and mosquito sprays for pregnant and lactating women in Kasoa Ofaakor in the
Awutu Senya East Zone of Central Region.
One statement declared
distribution exercise, under the auspices of the Ghana Health Service, was part of
two-day program organized with the support of the Ghana Education Service at
group of Kasoa Ofaakor schools with a fun-educational session, which was
interspersed with a play, cultural demonstrations as well as a quiz competition
between the Ofaakor group and the Nahadatu Islamic Basic Schools in order to improve their
understanding of good sanitation and hygiene practices.
According to
Charlotte Someah-Kwaw, Total Ghana Social Responsibility Officer,
this year's activities, announced as part of World Malaria Day as part of
theme "Roll Back Malaria for Good", will continue the 10 years of society
effort that saw thousands of schoolchildren, pregnant and lactating
mothers in several health posts and communities in Greater Accra, Ashanti,
Brong Ahafo, northern and western regions benefiting from a series of preventive measures
programs and distribution of treated mosquito nets.
She added that Total

these prevention programs at Kasoa Ofaakor, Total Ghana organized a forum for
its staff across the country to advance the cause.
