Argentina claimed its 10th title of Spain champion Saturday after leaving the bench of the winners to mark the winner of Barca's 1-0 win over Levante.

As a result, the Catalan giants won their 26th overall title in La Liga and their eighth in the last 11 seasons.

Messi is now the most successful player in Blaugrana in the history of the Spanish top flight and climbed to second place overall.

He tied the trophy of former Real Madrid player Jose Martinez Sanchez, better known as Pirri, who also won 10 LaLiga trophies during his career.

However, Pirri's former team-mate Francisco Gento leads the standings after winning 12 high-flying Spanish titles between 1953 and 1969.

Los Blancos remains LaLiga's all-time record-breaking record, having won the league title 33 times, after scoring just two goals in 11 campaigns.
