President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday accepted the resignation of Mr. Rockson Ayine Bukari, Minister of State in the President's Office.

In a statement issued by the Presidency's Communications Directorate, Mr Bukari submitted his resignation to the President on Monday, April 29, 2019, "because he had taken note of an ongoing cbadette in the media. and had therefore made the decision to resign, so as not to cause the band to disturb the government in carrying out its mandate. "

Mr. Bukari further stated in his letter that he resigned for reasons of principle, having "exercised a judgment contrary to what I knew you were defending and demanding of your agents in the management of this country".

According to the statement, the president accepted his resignation and wished him good luck in his future plans.

Bukari, former regional minister for Upper East East, is in the spotlight after an allegedly confidential conversation between him and Starr FM's correspondent, the Upper East East regional correspondent on the EIB network, has become viral.

The former minister who allegedly took part in the conversation would have tried to influence the journalist by financial incentives and a motorcycle to denounce a story against a Chinese judge and mining company.
