Fred Oduro, expert in governance, advised the president of the electoral commission to show more tolerance vis-à-vis the divergent points of view.
Mr. Oduro's advice follows a dispute between the chairman of the body responsible for election management, Jean Mensa, and the general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the opposition, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, last week.
"My first concern is to the President of the EC. She needs to have a bigger heart. It must be able to welcome all the key people. In Ghana in particular … you can not eliminate the NDC and the NPP in the political equation and, for the foreseeable future, I do not see any party winning any election outside of those two.

Political tolerance
