The royal family tends to be friendly on the surface, but behind closed doors, as with all other families in the world, tensions can spread.
This is certainly the case of Prince Charles of England and his sister, Princess Anne. Both have had a complicated relationship for years, and recent reports have shed some light
How many children has the queen?
Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, have four children in total. The Queen gave birth to her eldest son, Prince Charles, in 1948, Princess Anne in 1950, Prince Andrew in 1960, and Prince Edward in 1964.
While the Queen's four children have very different roles and places in the royal family, it was Prince Charles who caught the most attention in his lifetime.
As the next candidate for the throne, Prince Charles has always had a lot of weight on his shoulders in terms of expectations and responsibilities. Unfortunately, Prince Charles has had a difficult relationship with the public and the press and is not as popular with the British media as his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Most of the trouble began with her marriage to Princess Diana in the '80s and' 90s, with rumors of her adultery splashing the front pages of newspapers around the world. Like many members of the media, some of Prince Charles' relatives had problems with his behavior.
Why do Princess Anne and Prince Charles have blood?
Although Princess Anne was born only two years after Prince Charles, she was thirteenth for the throne. Although she may have her own ideas about the outdated rules that drove her into succession, she led a very fulfilled life and even competed in the Olympics.
Like her older brother, Princess Anne experienced her share of marital discord. His first marriage to Captain Mark Phillips ended in 1992 after it was revealed that he had had a child outside of their marriage. Following her divorce with Phillips, Princess Anne is remarried with Commander Timothy Laurence.
The interesting part of the story is that while Princess Anne was divorcing and remarrying, Prince Charles was divorcing very publicly with Princess Diana.
As the story of Prince Charles's affair with Camilla Parker Bowles slowly revealed itself to the public, rumors surfaced that Princess Anne might have had an affair with Camilla's husband, Andrew Parker Bowles.
During a heated family confrontation during which Princess Anne held Prince Charles guilty of adulterous relations with Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince Charles responded that she had to worry about her own situation.
This explosion would have led to a very tense relationship over the next few years – and their different personalities certainly did not help. While Prince Charles is supposed to love more entertainment, Princess Anne has a reputation for being rather stiff and uncomfortable in social situations.
Will they be heard in the future?
Although Prince Charles and Princess Anne have had an eventful history, everything seems to be going well for the moment. The recent photographs taken by the royal family during the celebration of Prince Charles's 70th birthday reveal that the brothers and sisters laugh at a common joke, apparently very comfortable in everyone's company.
It may be that when the two men have aged, the disagreements and struggles they may have had in the past become less and less important, and the cherished family has become a priority of daily life.
