Removal in Tardi 620x406 The three girls were abducted in Takoradi last year

The director of the National Investigation Bureau (BNI), Rasheed Seidu Inussah, has been instructed by the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to withdraw, will confirm 3news.com.

Even though there had been speculation that it would have been ordered to retire, internal sources are linking its withdrawal to a recent Daily Guide publication on the three kidnapped Tarkoradi girls.

Last Wednesday, the newspaper reported that the girls had been saved and were undergoing a medical examination in Accra.

According to the Daily Guide, the girls were brought from Takoradi to Accra on Monday and "were transported to an BNI clinic around the 37th Accra Military Hospital for preliminary medical care."

But when 3news.com checked at CID headquarters, the police did not authenticate the veracity of the report.

According to our sources, security problems and poor coordination between the police and the BNI were reported to have resulted in a leak in the Daily Guide newspaper.

For this reason, Mr. Seidu was fired.

Although our sources have not been adamant about this, it appears that the girls have been saved and possibly in the custody of the BNI.

Rasheed Seidu Inussah was appointed last year to succeed Akwasi Appiah as BNI,

Meanwhile, BNI deputy director Kweku Dumfeh was invited to take over.
