The chairman of the Sunyani Technical University Section of the Technical Association of University Workers of Ghana (TUWAG), Kofi Abrefa, calls for an immediate review of the spine wage structure for low-income people in the public service , especially junior staff.

Mr. Abrefa suggests that either the base salary for junior staff be adjusted upwards, or the annual 10% increase in percentage of public sector employees.

Mr. Abrefa also requested the inclusion of a representative of junior management on the university's board of governors to report their grievances as well.
For his part, the vice-chancellor of the STU, Professor Ing. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah congratulated the badociation for recognizing the hard work and contributions of its members in retirement.
He suggested that the university would take steps to recognize the contributions of staff who would be retiring soon.
