Accra, April 30, GNA –
A three-day simulation exercise on kindergarten and elementary education
Teachers started in Accra on Tuesday to roll out the new standards-based system
Program of studies.
He is in the process of organizing
by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the National Council for Curriculum
and evaluation (NaCCA).
The exercise that
May 1, would allow stakeholders and practitioners
test the different tools and training modules upstream of the national training of
teachers.
Participants would be
simulated sessions on four modules of the training program, including
overview of curriculum and curriculum framework, pedagogy and
Assessment as well as course planning and professional learning communities.
Dr. Yaw Adutwum, the
Deputy Minister of Education, Head of General Education, advised the
participants to take the sessions seriously.
They should ensure
that the training sessions were activity-based in order to demonstrate the new
pedagogical approach as underlined by the new standards-based standard
Program of studies.
He also urged the
participants, who are also experts in 12 groups of different topics, to share
the knowledge acquired after the training.
