The most valuable type of credit card reward are the transferable points, which can be transferred to hotel and airline partners.

At the very end of last year, Capital One has harmonized its travel reward program with the longest-standing contenders, such as Chase and AmEx, by introducing the transferability of Venture and Spark Miles cards. Any miles you earn with the cards – which earn 2x miles on every dollar spent – can still be redeemed to "clear" travel purchases, but can also be transferred to any of the airline's 14 partners.

On Wednesday, May 1, Capital One announced a 15th partner – and its first US airline partner.

From now on, Capital One Miles cardholders can transfer their miles to JetBlue's TrueBlue loyalty program.

In addition, for the month of May, Capital One offers a 50% bonus on the miles transferred to JetBlue. Normally, they can be transferred at a ratio of 2: 1, where every two miles Capital One equals one JetBlue mile. During the promotion, the ratio will actually be 2: 1.5. In the context, 1000 Capital One miles equivalent to 750 JetBlue miles during the launch bonus and 500 miles during the transfer.

While Chase's Ultimate Rewards program transfers miles to programs – including JetBlue – at a ratio of 1: 1, the advantage of Capital One is that you earn 2x mile per dollar for everything. Chase cards like the Chase Freedom Unlimited report 1.5 times more points (1.5% cash back) on everything; The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card offers 2x miles of meals and travel and 1x for everything else, while Chase Sapphire Reserve offers 3x points in the same bonus categories.

This is the second transfer bonus of Capital One. In March, the program offered a 100% bonus on miles transferred to Emirates Skywards frequent flyer program.

JetBlue will join Emirates and Singapore Airlines as part of the 2: 1 transfer ratio; the other 12 transfer partners all have a ratio of 1.5: 1.

The Capital One Venture is a great rewards card, offering 10x miles per dollar spent at Hotels.com (when booking through Hotels.com/Venture), and 2x miles per dollar for everything else.

In addition, you can earn a registration bonus of 50,000 Capital One Miles when you spend $ 3,000 in the first three months with the card.

If you own a small business – or even if you have a solo gig – Capital One Spark Miles for Business gives you 50,000 miles when you spent $ 4,500 in the first three months.
