President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo marked the May 1 celebrations of this year with the launch of a charter guiding the Beyond Aid in Ghana campaign.
The charter should present the meaning, purpose and timetable of implementation that will enable Ghana to achieve its development goal of the country, not depending on the badistance of development partners, but relying on available natural resources.
"On behalf of the people of Ghana, I would like to thank the support committee beyond Ghana for the good work they have done," said the president, handing the document to the thousands of workers marking the May 1 celebrations on the issue. Black Star Square, Wednesday. .

The charter was drafted by a committee chaired by Prime Minister Yaw Osafo-Maafo.
The committee was comprised of individuals from various areas of the governance structure, including Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta; Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah; The Minister of Planning, Professor Gyan Baffour; and the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama.
The rest comes from the Congress of Trade Unions, the Private Enterprise Foundation, the National Association of Teachers of Ghana and the Ghana Industries Association.
The president promised the creation of the committee during the celebration of May 1 in Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti region.

The workers gathered at 6 am in Obra Spot (circle of Kwame Nkrumah) for a procession in some streets of the capital.
