COPENHAGEN (Reuters) – Carlsberg A / S said Thursday a 9% increase in sales in the first quarter, the Danish brewer has sold more expensive beer and has maintained its forecast for the full year for 2019.
Sales reached 13.89 billion Danish kroner ($ 2.09 billion) for the first quarter ended March, according to a company statement, above the 13.56 billion Danish kroner expected in a survey of Reuters badysts.
The company, which did not report profit figures, said it still expects operating profit growth of less than 5% in 2019, although below 11% last year.
"We had a good start to the year, with particularly strong growth in volume in Asia and strong progress in our portfolios of artisbad, specialty and non-alcoholic products," said CEO Cees Hart in his communicated.
