Arsenal face Valencia while Chelsea is in Germany to face Frankfurt
Hello and good evening. Many of us chat about Lionel Messi's great performance in Barcelona in the Champions League, but let's pause to get ready for another European night where two English Premier League sides will face different oppositions in the race to win the UEFA Europa League title.
This is the time of the season for which it is worthwhile to be interested in the Europa League.
After months of games played Thursday night, trips to Poltava and Szekesfehervar, Chelsea and Arsenal are only two games in the final.
If Arsenal or Chelsea win the Europa League, they will qualify for the group stage Champions League next season.
If the winners finish outside the top four in the Premier League, it will mean that five English teams will be in the Champions League.
However, if they finish in the first four, England will not have an extra place. The team that finishes third in the fifth league – France – will qualify for the Champions League group stage instead of qualifying.
There is no place in the Champions League for the finalists defeated.
