Contractors at Adenta-Madina Bridge at First Sky Limited said the bridge meets international standards.

Reacting to concerns expressed by some in the Ghanaian population that the bridge is too long and the design is not optimal, the project manager, Ernest Hammond, said in an interview with Citi FM that the bridge was in compliance with international standards.

"The length of the bridge is in line with international standards, some are considerably longer."

Ernest Hammond explained that the project was intended to allow people with disabilities to also access the bridge.

"We want to make the ramp accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities and people who may not be in good enough shape."

"It was the best design for the situation on the ground, it is the only bridge for which we were engaged and it was done in time," he added.

Some Ghanaians complained about the nature of the bridge. Depending on their design, it would take about 5 minutes for one person to cross the road.
