Former Liverpool coach, Brendan Rodgers, revealed that he would do his best to annihilate the Manchester City title, but not because the Reds are his former employers.
The Northern Irish Rodgers spent three years and a bit at Anfield, where he almost secured the Reds' first title to his opponents since 1990 in 2013/14 and won the LMA Manager of the Year award.
Rodgers was dismissed as the Liverpool boss in October 2015 after seeing the club slide to 10th place after eight games – he finished on an impressive record in the Merseyside canoe with 83 wins in 166 games.
Aged 46, he is now the head of the city of Leicester City and could serve the Reds with their current title – the Foxes facing City on Monday night.
Liverpool and City are separated by a point, with Pep Guardiola's men leading the race, and Rodgers explained whether he would do any favors to the Reds.
"These are exciting games in this last period of the season and we will try to give the best of ourselves," said Rodgers.
"Our only concern is ourselves, we need to focus enough on our own performance to get good results in these last three games, which gives us a great springboard to finish the season, then a very good pre-season for prepare ourselves for next year.
"You've seen me play young players, I want to see how much pressure they are under in big games.
"We will do everything we can, every game, to get a result, so I think it's a wonderful opportunity for us, it's certainly not a bad thing."
Rodgers was asked if it would be very special to give the title to Liverpool, but he replied bluntly: "Not really. I am employed by Leicester. I focus on Leicester City.
"There is no comparison possible. Liverpool was then at a different stage. We had young players, players on loan. We went from eighth to second place in a few years and almost won the title, so it's a different dynamic. We deserved to finish where we did, which was second. We just did not go over the line in 38 games.
"But we showed young players that it was possible, and many of these players, like Jordan Henderson, who is a fantastic player, was a young player and he could have learned from those experiences.
"It's exciting to be involved and to be able to achieve it, but I'm only thinking about Leicester and I'm doing what we can to get a result."
