Turin Derby: Ronaldo's equalizer prevents Turin's historic victory

The late equalizer of Cristiano Ronaldo on Friday prevented the city's rival, Turin, from winning a historic victory against Juventus.

While Juventus lost 1-0 in Turin late in the game, Ronaldo was up six yards to signal Salvatore Sirigu's Leonardo Spinazzola center.

The equalizer in the 84th minute saved the 1-1 draw against Juventus in the Turin Derby. Ronaldo has now scored seven goals in his last nine Serie A games.

Ronaldo's goal was the 601st of his career after reaching the 600-goal mark with a goal against Inter on Saturday.

The Portuguese has now reached 101 goals in the club and has been particularly prolific in the air, with seven of his last 10 goals in all competitions.

Ronaldo's goal also prevented Torino from imposing on Juventus for the first time since 1995. Juve have won nine wins and four draws out of 13 contests since.

Turin could have tied points with Atalanta (4th) they had held for a win, but Walter Mazzarri's team is still in the middle of a record-breaking campaign.

The Granata have already scored 57 points in 2018-2019, which equates to their club record in the three-point period of the 2013-14 season.

Juventus have 89 points and lead Napoli to second place with 19 points after winning their eighth consecutive Serie A title.

Juve's ability to return is one of the main reasons why they so easily won a new Scudetto. Mbadimiliano Allegri's men have now won 21 points in difficult situations this season, the highest number in Serie A.
