The boy was missing on Wednesday and was last seen at his home
The one-year-old boy missing in Adjei Kojo, in Ashaiman, was found dead in a manhole.
His body was found Friday around 6 am, a few blocks from his home. Since then, the body was taken away by the police to the morgue of Tema General Hospital.
The boy's uncle, Abdul Razak Mohammed, who confirmed the news to Citi News, said the family had learned the fate of their son after Friday afternoon's prayer.
They were at a family reunion when an imam came to reveal to them that the body of the child had been found by a woman in the manhole area, which also serves as a makeshift toilet.
"Her daughter went to relax and she found the baby in the pit," he said.
Abdul Razak said the family was still in shock "and that the mother recovered" after she collapsed after the initial shock that she had suffered at the news.
The boy had disappeared on Wednesday and had been last seen at his home.
The boy's family suspects that he was abducted by a lady while he was playing with his older brother.
This death comes less than a week after a two-year-old boy who was reportedly kidnapped at "Chinese", a suburb of Kasoa, was found dead.
The boy disappeared on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, but was found dead and the body hidden under rubble two days later.
