He said this at a forum organized by the Ghana Association of Journalists in Accra, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day 2019.

"One of the mandates entrusted to us by the Constitution is this: we must hold the government accountable to the people of this country, but when we take a partisan stand, we have not only lost our professional credibility, but we have become stooges.

A journalist must exist because he is a journalist, a journalist should not exist because there was a politician because we do not live our politics alone, but we also live our journalism and we must have an impact ", he stressed.

He therefore urged Ghanaian journalists to engage in productive discussions to educate the population to make informed decisions and to hold all political leaders accountable.
