The suspect would have sliced his brother's throat without suspicion soon after a dispute
A 25-year-old University of Cape Coast (UCC) graduate reportedly sliced his brother's throat to death in Gomoa Obuase, central Gomoa district, central region.
The suspect identified as James Annan was allegedly murdered by Michael Botwe, who was due to graduate from the University of Education Winneba (UEW) in July this year.
According to community sources, Kofi Adjei of the Adom News newspaper, the two brothers argued on the farm but returned home, the case being settled.
While the deceased was resting under a tree in their house, the suspect, with a knife in his hand, addressed him and asked him to raise his head to remove something under his chin.
The sources said that it is raising his head that the suspect sliced his throat with the knife he was wielding.
The mother of the deceased, Nana Adwoa, confirmed the event, claiming that it had been broken by the receipt of the news.
Nana Adwoa said the news of her son's murder had been relayed by relatives, adding that she was saddened that her son had not lived until the end of his studies in July.
Superintendent Seth Yirenkye, district police commander of Agona Swedru, also confirmed the incident, claiming that the suspect had been arrested while investigations into the circumstances were underway but that he would soon be brought to court.
